A home for the disabled in Isiolo has benefited from foodstuff and non-food items donations from a local businessman and philanthropist Mwenda Thuranira.
The donations by the businessman cum politician are meant to cushion the Almasi Children Village against the current harsh economic times.
Mr Thuranira, who led a tree planting exercise at the school, said he will continue supporting the children so that they live comfortable lives.
“We will continue supporting the institution for the children to realize their full potential,” said Mr Thuranira.
The businessman, eyeing the Isiolo North MP seat, asked parents of children living with various disabilities to desist hiding them in their homes.
“They should know that having a child with disability is not witchcraft and the misfortune can befall anyone. We should embrace them into the society,” he stressed.
