Kimilili MP-elect Didmus Barasa who is facing murder charges for allegedly killing his competitor’s aide Brian Olunga has been released on Sh10 million bond and a surety of Sh5 million.

The embattled lawmaker who had been in custody for two weeks was however restricted from stepping foot to his home county of Bungoma and instructed to surrender his passport.

While granting the bond terms, Justice Patrick Otieno barred Mr Barasa from commenting on the issue or coming into contact with any of the witnesses.

Mr Barasa who has denied the charges is alleged to have gunned down the DAP-K’s Brian Khaemba aide on August 9 election day at Chebukwabi in Bungoma.
