Police in Kwale County are investigating the cause of the fire that killed a mother and her three children on Friday night.
An emergency rescue team that rushed to the scene, after residents raised an alarm, found the four already dead.
The family belonged to a local teacher only identified as Mwanyikombo and who had gone to watch a football match at Taru trading centre when the incident occurred around 10 PM.
Residents say the fire could have been caused by a candle that the four were using as there was a power blackout in the area.
