After years of crying foul over the Miraa market closure and increased levels of poverty of the Igembe nation because of poor Miraa returns, last week Igembe North MP Maoka Maore petitioned the President directly.
He did not make Rants/empty statements in Parliament in the names of questioning the Agriculture CS Peter Munya. In fact, he bypassed CS Munya after feeling he was a stumbling block.
The petition requested the Head of State to grant a delegation from Igembe People headed by Governor Kiraitu Murungi and the MP Maore an opportunity to have a sitting with him to discuss the losses and how community is gradually sliding into poverty because of the market closures.
Permission was granted and immediately Interior CS Fred Matiang’i was tasked to coordinate positive outcome of the Igembe action points. He put up a multi-sectoral team that included officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Immediately they visited Ambassador of Somalia in Kenya to book an urgent appointment with Mogandishu Government. As we speak they are there and details has it that the market will be reopened anytime.
The Same delegation put pressure on top leadership to scout for a new market and under IGAD banner rapporteurs were deployed to engage REPUBLIC OF DJIBOUTI to open a new market for Miraa.
Tharaka dengu and cereals
Since creation of the Jubilee Government, NO Tharaka or Tharaka Nithi County Leader has ever seen the need to take Tharaka delegation to negotiate for themselves and put cry of their cereals on the table of the President.
Our Leaders fake, archaic and poverty entrenchment mentality of secretly meeting top leadership to negotiate their handouts for contribution in the burials and harambees must be cursed by all of us while naked.
There is no substantial development you can derive for your people by engaging national leadership when they visit your home area. They should come to your village to launch what you have already borrowed long time ago.
That demostrates how clueless or selfish our leader’s are. Honestly you can’t petition a national figure at an event. He doesn’t carry reference materials and files to your villages. Also note that your Petition won’t amount to anything if it’s NOT backed up by a team or a delegation to collaborate the information in the memo or Petition.
As long as these leader’s continue to occupy offices and taunting to represent you, Tharaka am sorry Jesus Christ will return and meet you wallowing in untold deprivation, poverty and absolute lack of most necessities of life.
Unfortunately some of you may be lucky to join kingdom of heaven while others will join the second suffering den after spending another hell on Earth.
How will you transform society through deceit and playing to the Gallery alone ? Recently you praised Tharaka MP Gitonga Muragara for retorting to government technocrats in Chuka who controls budgets. That was a spectacular failure in leadership meant to hoodwhink thirsty and poverty stricken masses that their leader is awake yet he is snoring.
The incumbents MP Murugara, Senator Kithure Kindiki, Woman Rep Beatrice Nkatha and Governor Muthomi Njuki have carefully executed a collective scheme to keep Tharaka parmanently in poverty by not opening their gate passes of life.
The four of you need to retreat your minds. We won’t allow you to catwalk burrying us generously because we are poor and can’t afford good health because our crops fetches nothing in the markets.
You have not crafted any economic Model of uplifting lives and thus automatically making poverty our maternal RELATIVE. I strongly rebuke your leadership modus operandi as a kin to one that is driving population to hell while on Earth.
