Nairobi’s Mbagathi road has been renamed after Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga after Nairobi County Assembly passed a motion approving the name.

The motion, moved by Minority Whip Peter Imwatok sought to have Mr Odinga recognized for his immense contribution in the fight for improvement of infrastructure and good governance in the country.

According to the legislator, there was need to appreciate and recognize Odinga’s efforts while he is alive as he had selflessly fought for peace during Presidents Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenures.

The Nairobi Metropolitan Services on Thursday renamed the road to Raila Odinga Way.
