The government has warned students against using face masks to engage in exam malpractice in the coming national exams.
Education CS George Magoha said the government will be vigilant during the upcoming KCPE and KCSE examination to ensure that students do not engage in cheating.
Magoha said the government was aware that some students were planning to use their masks as “Mwakenyas” and warned that those who will be found culpable will face dire consequences.
“Candidates must not attempt such, we will frisk them and if caught, it is up to them,” the official shared on Twitter.
The CS said the students will be required to take off their masks before getting into the examination room and be thoroughly frisked at the entrance where their temperatures will also be checked.
The KCPE exams will start on March 22 while KCSE kicks off six days later and will run for 23 days.
