Isiolo residents have been urged to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise to enable them participate in the upcoming 2022 General Elections.

County Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Manager Mr Jaban Mutwiri asked residents to avoid last minute rush by registering within the 30-day window.

“Our people should come out in large numbers and register to participate in the forthcoming polls,” said Mr Mutwiri.

Voter transfers are strictly being done at the IEBC constituency offices for scrutiny of all those interested and group transfers to establish genuineness of their cases.

“The law allows one to transfer their vote if necessary,” he said during a stakeholders meeting that brought together government and non-State actors, business community and representatives from several groups including persons living with disabilities .

The electoral agency targets 17, 294 new voters in the country with less than 200 registered since the exercise started.

The commission targets 12, 913 voters in Isiolo North and 4381 voters in Isiolo South with 56, 292 voters and 19, 096 voters respectively.
