Isiolo County Secretary Dr Ahmed Galgalo has lashed out at local elected leaders for snubbing an education function at Isiolo Boys High School where 98 learners from needy families benefit from Equity Group’s Wings to Fly and Elimu Scholarships.
The official said it was unfortunate that none of the local MPs and MCAs showed up at the Friday flagging off event that he graced which he said showed they do not value education.
He took a swipe at Isiolo North MP Hassan Odha for sending a representative saying that was not enough.
“I was notified of the event on Thursday evening and despite having a busy schedule, I said I must be here because there is nothing as noble (for a leader) like this,” Dr Galgalo told the crowd.
In a rather humorous manner, he asked those with the leaders’ contacts to tell them not to miss such occasions in the future.
