Over 30 casuals working at the Isiolo Referral Hospital Wednesday stormed the Isiolo County Treasury protesting over unpaid salaries.
The workers who were demanding for their dues that have accumulated for over five months were blocked from accessing the office in Isiolo town by police officers manning the gate.
A contingency of police officers from Isiolo Police Station dispersed the adamant workers who later camped outside the County Secretary office to no avail.
“We are tired of empty promises and want our money,” one of the workers shouted during the scuffle at the Treasury gate.
The workers, out of intimidation, later left disappointed.
