A total of 576 students on April 23 graduated with various certificates in a ceremony conducted virtually in line with Cocid-19 protocols.

Speaking during the event that was physically attended by a few graduates and guests, Vice-Chancellor Erastus Njoka lauded the graduates for completing the courses amid great challenges of the pandemic.

He said the university endeavors to provide solutions to various challenges facing the world including diseases hence very keen on research and innovation programs.

The don said the varsity is coming up with multi-billion Science and Technology Research Park which will be the hub of research and innovation in East Africa.

“We are looking forward to being the centre of research and innovation in this part of the world in order to provide solutions to the problems challenging humanity,” Said Prof Njoka.

The Chancellor, Dr Julius Rotich urged the government to elevate Tharaka University College to a full-pledge university.

He lauded the management of Chuka University for the great development of the institution.

“I urged the graduates to be good ambassadors of this university and always do good outside there,” said Dr Rotich.
