Three class seven boys drowned in River Kiama in Gatanga Sub-County Muranga on Sunday evening.
According to relatives, the minors Ryan Karanja, John Mwaura and John Mambo had gone to a nearby town center to have their hair shaved before the unfortunate incident.
While returning home they decided to pass by the river to swim where they were trapped leading to their deaths.
Two of the bodies were retrieved the same day while the other was retrieved by police and divers on Monday morning.
The area residents have since appealed to their leaders to help fence the area that they said had claimed many lives.
