Five people died and several others injured in an head on collision involving a Range Rover V8 and a Toyota Land Cruiser at Sabache area along Isiolo-Marsabit highway.
The V8 vehicle with five passengers on board was heading to Isiolo when one of its tyres burst on Monday evening.
It lost control and swerved on the road hitting the Toyota car that was headed in the opposite direction before rolling several times.
The driver of the Toyota vehicle and four occupants of the other vehicle died on the spot while those injured were rushed to Archer’s Post Sub-County hospital and later referred to Isiolo Referral Hospital for further treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Isiolo Referral Hospital mortuary.
Police also recovered a Glock pistol loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition from one of the vehicles.
