Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has instructed the morgues in the county not to receive bodies from neighboring Uganda whose cause of deaths is unknown in bid to curb spread of Ebola into the country.
The county boss maintained that the move was meant to ensure that no cases of the spread as a result of coming into contact with infected bodies.
The directive comes as Uganda continues to record more than 20 Ebola-related deaths with a number of patients still admitted.
The virus attacks the immune system of the patient causing diarrhoea, body aches and bleeding and kills up to 90 percent of those infected.
The Ministry of Health has set up isolation points at Malaba while several health officers have been dispatched to the porous Kenya-Uganda border to conduct tests on those getting into the country.
The Ministry has also called for vigilance among members of public and urged them to report suspected cases of infection.
