A day after impeachment of Wajir Governor Mohammed Abdi Mohammud by the Senate, his deputy Muktar Ali is set to take over the reins as the new Governor of the county.

The swearing in exercise is underway at the county headquarters.

The Wajir Governor was ousted on Monday night with 25 out of 31 Senators who participated in the voting, supporting his removal from office for gross violation of the constitution.
