A 45-year-old Nakuru man has been jailed after being found guilty of defiling his lover’s 13-year-old daughter.
Joshua Mbuva Mwanzia reportedly committed the offence in June 2020 at Mzee wa Nyama in Nakuru East after luring the girl with Sh100.
The court in Nakuru has sentenced a 45-year-old man to 20 years in prison for defiling his lover’s 13-year-old daughter.
The court, during the judgment, said the evidence tabled by the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that Joshua Mbuva Mwanzia defiled the minor.
The prosecution argued that the accused took advantage of his relationship with the minor’s mother to prey on her and commit the ugly act.
Senior Resident magistrate Vyonne Khatambi said the girl gave clear chronology of events and was consistent during her examination.
The girl told the court that she had only known the accused three months prior to the incident.
In her testimony, the complainant said Mr Mbuva at one time requested for her number after finding her with it to ostensibly ease communication with her when the mother was away in the market.
The accused used to call and text her, the girl said.
On the material day, the minor said, Mr Mbuva called and requested her to go to his house where he gave her Sh200 and asked her to go look for change.
He would on her return, give her Sh100 and then grab and defile her.
The mother, who was at home at the time, would later in the day learn that the caller was actually his lover.
The daughter later revealed to her that the man gave her Sh100 before defiling her.
Mr Mbuva claimed he had been framed by the minor’s mother but the court found it as mere afterthought.
He was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
