The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has submitted copies of the draft Building Bridges Initiative (Bill 2020) to all the 47 county assemblies for consideration of the constitutional amendments.
This came after the electoral agency verified 1.14 million signatures submitted to support the initiative.
IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati has written to Speakers of all the county assemblies to table the draft bill which must be approved by at least 24 counties to proceed to the next stage.
This comes a day after ODM Leader accused the electoral agency of delayed verification of the voters signatures in support of the proposed constitutional amendments.
