The Kenya National Council of Elders has called on citizens aged 58 years and above to come out and be vaccinated against Covid-19.
The Council Chairperson Phares Rutere asked Kenyans to take the Covid-19 jab stressing that it was safe and would boost their immunity.
“Can the government bring us something that is harmful to our health?” Mr Rutere who was vaccinated few days ago posed.
The Council Treasurer Ahmed Sett, who is also the Isiolo Interfaith Network Chair, rubbished the safety concerns of the AstraZeneca vaccine saying it was not harmful at all.
“Our people should take the issue of the jab seriously because the third wave of Covid-19 is more lethal,” Mr Sett said.
The officials further appealed to Kenyans not to drop the guard on observing the health protocols on hygiene, social distancing and wearing of masks.
