Three children and a househelp have died after an inferno razed down their house at Pipeline area in Nakuru county.
The Sunday incident occured when the children’s mother, a police officer attached at Elementaita Police station, was at work.
The four, who rented the house together with the officer Mary Wandia three days ago, had already been burnt beyond recognition when police officers arrived at the scene.
The depressed mother was thrown into mourning when she found that the four had perished on arrival at the home.
Nakuru town East Sub-County Police Commander Phanton Analo said investigations into the incident had been launched to establish the cause of the inferno as the house had no power.
It is suspected that the fire could have been caused by a candle as neighbours said the house had no power.
