Several people, including students on their way back to school, are feared dead following a grisly road accident involving several vehicles at Kambiti area along Sagana-Kenol road.
Eye witnesses say a speeding lorry headed towards Sagana rammed into six other vehicles moving in the opposite direction causing a traffic snarl up at the steep area for several hours.
Reports indicate the driver of the lorry was critically injured while one of the occupants died on the spot.
It is suspected that the lorry developed a brake failure during the accident.
Dozens who were injured in the accident were rushed to hospitals in Murang’a County.
Police are yet to share the total number of fatalities though sources say more than 20 people were injured in the accident.
