Self confessed serial killer Masten Wanjala has been killed at Mukhweya village in Kabuchai, Bungoma County, nearly two days after he escaped from Jogoo Road police station cell.
The incident was confirmed by West Bukusu Location Chief Boniface Ndiera who said he was lynched by angry mob around 6:30am on Friday morning.
Three police officers who were duty when the suspect disappeared have already been charged with aiding the prisoner to escape.
Court is set to rule on application to have the three officers detained for 14 days to allow investigations to be completed.
