Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi has slammed Isiolo elected leaders for snubbing his meetings in the county despite receiving official invites.
He said it was sad that despite sending invitations to Governor Abdi Ibrahim, Woman Representative Mumina Bonaya, Isiolo North MP Joseph Samal and Senator Fatuma Dullo none of them has attended his previous two meetings.
The CS spoke during an inspection exercise to assess progress of the Isiolo export abattoir in Burat ward, Isiolo North
“Residents complain that we come here without involving their leaders while we send invites to all of them. They are never available. I wonder whether the things they are doing are more important than the exercise we are undertaking here,” CS Linturi wondered.
The leaders did not show up when CS Linturi joined his two other colleagues in the distribution of food aid to residents affected by the El Nino rains late last year.
The seemingly angry CS asked national and county government leaders to work together for improved livelihoods.
“We cannot work individually and expect to reap maximum benefits. Everyone should play their part. Unity is an important aspect of service delivery,” he said.
