A joint team of detectives and Kenya Wildlife Service officers has arrested four suspects, two in Isiolo and two in Marsabit, with elephant tusks weighing 58.6 kilograms valued at over Sh5 million.
Nahashon Gitonga and Ezra Mutungi were arrested while ferrying two pieces of tusks weighing 7.1 kilos on a motorbike at Gambella area in Isiolo, suspected to be of an elephant killed at the area last year.
The officers while posing as buyers nabbed Lesarin Leejer and James Legalora at Laisamis town with six tusks weighing over 50 kilograms.
The suspects expected to be arraigned in court later today.
