Isiolo’s Galaxy Hospital’s Human Resource department has been recognized in this year’s HR Excellent Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Awards by the Institute of Human Resource Management.
The hospital’s HR head Rafiki Karisa attributed the achievement to staff dedication and professionalism.
Mr Karisa cited a wellness programme, leadership development and competent hiring among the issues that contributed to the recognition over excellence.
“Our programs not only benefit employees while at work but also takes care of their individual matters including financial management. This has immensely contributed to excellent performance at work,” he told The Press Point.
A free customer feedback platform at the hospital immensely contributed to the success as the facility was able to adequately measure their employee performance.
The facility that was started in 2016 prides itself in having complemented provision of healthcare services by public hospitals.
“The available public health facilities have no sufficient capacity to handle the high number of patients seeking services and therefore, we are glad that we are slowly filling such gaps,” Mr Karisa noted.
The facility located in Isiolo town offers among others specialist services, Intensive Care Unit services, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Optical and Dental services.
The officer encouraged residents to seek healthcare services in time to avoid health complications that arise from late diagnosis.
This year’s IHRM Awards were held at Safari Park in Nairobi on December 8, 2023.
