At least 20 students and a teacher in Bomet are receiving treatment after sustaining injuries following a fire outbreak at their school on Sunday morning.
Sources say the fire reduced to ashes over 10 houses at Kaplong Girls’ High School staff quarters.
The affected students are said to have inhaled smoke while trying to put out the fire.
Some of the victims are said to have fainted before they were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are admitted in a stable condition.
Even as it is suspected that the fire was caused by an electric fault, Sotik Sub-County Police boss Francis Ng’ang’a said the cause of the fire was yet to be established.
