A court in Lamu has found two men who allegedly defiled a 16-year-old girl while on her way to school guilty of the charges.
The two, Abdulrahman Dara and Said Bunu, alongside another unidentified man are said have way-laid the 16-year-old while on her way to school before injecting her with an unknown substance.
The minor told the court that the accused persons were well known to her as they came from same village and used to pass by her parent’s house on several occasions.
She painfully recalled how after injecting her, they proceeded to cover her mouth with a piece of cloth to make sure she could not scream.
She would later lose consciousness and find herself in hospital.
Later, after regaining consciousness she realized that the criminals after committing the heinous act dumped her in a beach.
The suspects were arrested and arraigned but denied gang rape and indecent act counts.
Lamu Principal Magistrate Temba Sitati Tuesday found the two guilty and ordered they be held awaiting sentencing.
