The national carrier Kenya Airways has confirmed that a passenger who developed breathing difficulties minutes before a plane destined for Mombasa took off has died.
Reports indicate that the deceased is Baringo deputy Governor Charles Kipngok who was heading to Mombasa for Council of Governors induction tomorrow.
A statement by the carrier indicated that the passenger was pronounced dead by medical personnel around 7PM while the aircraft was still on the ground at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
The cause of death could not be immediately established.
“We convey our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” KQ shared.
The body was moved to Lee Funeral Home.
This is the third case in a month’s time.
Kenya Airways had earlier this month confirmed that a passenger aboard one of its flights to Newyork from Nairobi had passed on.
Another passenger headed to Nairobi from Newyork had a week earlier succumbed after developing breathing difficulties several hours after the plane had taken off.
