A terror suspect who pleaded guilty has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by a Nairobi court.

Mr Charles Kibet Rono alias Bashir who was arrested by Anti Terror Detectives last month is said to have been in possession of terror related materials, literature and extremist propaganda.

After his arrest, Mr Rono confessed to have been planning to go for jihad either in Somalia or the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Kahawa Chief Magistrate Diana Mochache ruled that the suspect had been found in guilty of collection and being on possession of the materials and contrary to section 29 and 30 of the prevention of terrorism act.
