Nairobi Woman rep aspirant Monica Wamaitha Gitau has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer after she appeared for a television interview at Inooro TV while in police uniform.
Kilimani Police Station officers received information of the ongoing interview and on doubting her credibility rushed to the station and arrested her.
The suspect is currently in custody awaiting arraignment upon completion of the ongoing investigations.
The National Police Service has urged media houses to always liaise with the Office of the Police Spokesperson or respective regional or county commanders over all requests for interviews with police officers.
