Police in Kericho have launched investigations into a robbery incident where unknown criminals broke into a church and stole unspecified amount of money.

The criminals broke into the residence of St Mark Catholic Parish in Litein while the priests were asleep in the adjacent room.

They also gained entry into the church and vandalized the tabernacle used to house the Eucharist.

The May 31 incident was reported by Parish priest Fr Moses Langat.

Preliminary investigations show the criminals broke into the premise by shattering a window pane.

A manhunt for those involved is on.
