The outcome of the United Democratic Alliance party nominations and the controversy therein was expected.
The nominations outcome was predetermined and therefore voting a window dressing exercise.
Listening to complaints and threats from the losers is all drama and video because politically, they chose the beds of nails and so they must sleep on them.
Those bitter with the nominations might as well eat the humble pie and accept their fate because there is nothing they can do about it.
They are between the rock and hard place because for one, they cannot expect support from UDA nor any other party after exhibiting highest degree of political ignorance and lack of vision.
They are spent goods.
Their only recourse is to stand as Independents and face the consequences at the ballot on August 9 this year.
Few of them will make it, partly because these are the costliest elections in our electoral history and therefore few among them can mount winnable campaigns.
In the meantime, they are digging themselves deeper into political waste pit by pegging their hopes on a party that has no interest or pity on political rejects.
Why they are clinging to that hope is understandable after paying costly nomination fees and feeling short-changed.
Either way, they will again pay hefty fees for launching complaints at UDA national election board and lose everything.
The “Alibaba” party has said it will field candidates for all elective positions countrywide and face the line ups of its opponents and that is final.
In my view, these political dunderheads should lick their wounds and move on!
Finally, let us wait for more political rejects from the other parties that are set to conduct nominations and advice them accordingly when they too realise political parties have their owners.
