A 42-year-old woman from West Pokot County who last year left her husband of 20 years to marry the “Holy Spirit” has died.
Elizabeth Nalem’s decomposing body, with some missing organs, was found in Kopoch forest in Mnagei ward last Saturday.
The mother of six had gone missing for the last three weeks and surprisingly left behind her mobile phone, Bible and crucial documents at home, relatives say.
Her husband rushed to the scene after getting information that a body had been discovered in the forest only to find it was his wife.
The woman was married at a ceremony presided over by a local pastor Albert Rumaita done at Chelang’a Gardens in Kapenguria.
The cleric of the Makutano Anglican Church of Kenya, said he had no option but to preside over Mrs Nalem’s wedding which he said was a sign of the end of times.
The cleric bought the woman a wedding gown and also funded the event, including hiring vehicles that drove the bride to the venue.
