A 25-year old man has been hospitalised at a hospital in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu after he was attacked by a man he was playing pool table game with for beating him severally.
Calvin Kiprotich, 24, assaulted his opponent Douglas Chepng’etich after outwitting him in several rounds of games at a poolroom in Kaburwa area in Kapseret.
The suspect used a cue stick to hit the victim on the head inflicting life-threatening injuries that saw him fall on the ground and lay unconscious.
The suspect then attempted to escape in his vehicle but irate bystanders ejected him and descended on him with heavy blows and kicks.
Police officers based at Langas police station rushed to the scene, rescued the suspect from being lynched and rushed him to Moi Teaching and Referral hospital, where he is admitted.
The suspect will be charged with assault immediately after he leaves hospital.
