A court in Eldoret has jailed for one year man who attacked and injured a waiter after he was asked to pay Sh50 for mandazi and soup at a hotel in Moiben, Uasin Gishu.
The suspect Mike Kiprono pleaded guilty to assaulting Martin Wakoli occasioning bodily harm on March 12.
Court documents indicated that Mr Kiprono alias Sonko descended on the victim with blows and kicks saying the food he had eaten was not worth Sh50.
He would be later arrested after fleeing the area and be arraigned before the Eldoret court.
The accused, in his defence, claimed he was drunk at the moment, a plea that the court dismissed.
Principal Magistrate Onkoba Mogire jailed him for one year or to pay Sh50, 000 fine.
