Deputy President, Dr. William Ruto’s trip to America is a perfect case of political and foreign policy deception.
The DP’s strategists have been working overtime to sweeten real engagements with foreign officials and spin imaginary meetings in the hope it will add value to the DP’s trip abroad.
According to Ruto’s Communication Director, Hussein Mohammed, the DP’s crowning engagement was to the Whitehouse, America’s seat of power.
While communicating this information, Hussein neither indicated nor mentioned who the DP was to meet in the ‘Whitehouse’.
In order to score big in the minds of Kenyans back home, Hussein made it appear as if the DP’s appointment in the ‘Whitehouse’ was with President Joe Biden.
To make matters even more intriguing, Hussein posted photos of the DP and Ababu Namwmba strolling towards a nondescript building purporting it to be the famous Whitehouse.
Keen Kenyans were quick to point out that the structure was Einsenhower Building, whereby the DP and those with him held talks with a senior US official on peace and security matters.
Why is Ruto so keen to create an impression that he is about or will hold a meeting with President Joe Biden?
Why is the DP taking unnecessary risks of being called out for spreading propaganda?
Is it really necessary for the second in command to allow his strategists to put his reputation to disrepute?
For information purposes, if there is a hard thing that exists is for a foreign dignitary to meet the President of the most powerful nation on earth-America.
If Biden were to meet Ruto even unofficially and that is what the DP’s minders are dreaming about, it would amount to an international endorsement to his bid for the presidency.
Could the US government or President do such a thing?
Although anything is possible because even the US would wish to install a puppet president anywhere in the world, including Kenya for its strategic interests, it is unlikely that could happen.
If I am right, then Ruto’s strategist are not doing anything different from the conning schemes that Harambee Annex building and officials has come to be infamous for.
It would be unfortunate if those behind false or twisted information are buying a leaf from the Rashid Echesa’s notebook and similar scams that are associated with the DP’s official office in Nairobi.
It appears that by the time the DP lands in Britain, his media spinners will be entertaining gullible Kenyans with how the DP will hold a meeting with Prime Minister, Boris Johnson at 10 Downing Street in London.
This begs the question, what was really the real reason behind Ruto’s trip abroad?
Certainly, it couldn’t have been for leisure or pleasure. In my view it has to do with official or unofficial endorsement by powerful nations as he gunners for the presidency of the Republic of Kenya.
