Residents of Kathurumu, Igembe South in Meru Country are a worried lot after a man who recently completed a 14-year-jail term reportedly hacked to death his two step brothers before going into hiding.
According to the villagers, the 44-year-old Stanley Ntarangwi attacked Mr Joseph Mukaria and Charles Kathongi aged 54 and 43 respectively over claims that they had allocated him the smallest piece of land while he was serving the jail term.
The residents say that the fugitive is working with a local gang that was out to kill and maim as some of them watched silently while he completed the two offenses between December 30, 2021 and January 25,2022.
Angry villagers who were baying for his blood razed down his home after failing to get him.
Area Chief Japhet Kaibiria said they had launched a manhunt for the suspect who is believed to be in possession of killer weapons.
