Two women are among the four people who were killed in a banditry attack at the border of West Pokot and Elgeyo-Marakwet counties.

Police reports indicate that the armed bandits, during the Friday attack, ambushed villagers at Liter village in Kaben and went away with unidentified number of livestock.

The attack brings to seven the number of people killed in the area within one week where hundreds of animals have reportedly been stolen.

Residents are now calling upon the national security team to intensify security in the area to avert more deaths and loss of property especially during the electioneering period.
