Three men who reportedly robbed off a woman her valuables worth unknown amount in Kinoo town in Kiambu County are lucky to be alive after police officers rescued them from the wrath of villagers and bodaboda operators.

The three, Erick Karanja, Kelvin Kamau and Topla Muteti aged between 21 and 22 years had tried to escape when their victim raised alarm prompting a chase by the riders.

They were cornered at Stage 87 area where one of them tried jumping out of the motorbike they were riding on that later swayed on the road before landing into a ditch.

“The bodaboda riders descended on them with kicks and blows accusing them of soiling their good name by using a motorbike as their getaway means after committing the crime,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) shared.

Police from Kinoo Police Station responded to the commotion and saved the suspects who were later rushed to the hospital.

A homemade firearm capable of firing was recovered from one of the suspects.

The motorbike, registration number KMFH 382L is being detained as investigation continue.
