Four security officers from the General Service Unit are feared dead following a suspected Al-Shabaab attack in Lamu.
The vehicle they were travelling in was hit by an explosive device as the officers were headed to work at Ndeu roadblock according to police sources.
A contingent of security officers has been deployed to ensure normalcy resumes in the affected area.
Police have since launched investigations to establish the exact number of casualties and the circumstances surrounding the Friday morning attack.
