The National Police Service has revealed that an internal investigation had commenced aiming at proffering measures against a group of newly graduated General Service Unit (GSU) officers whose video has been on social media making irresponsible and reckless remarks.
In the clip, that has since gone viral, the graduates depicts the young graduates irresponsibly as they utter words meant to scare the public.
“Tushamaliza. One hour from now tunakuja nje. Hawa ni wale wazii….” translated to “We are done and will be out in one hour. We are the squad,” the team is heard shouting.
According to a report shared by the NPS, the behavior portrayed on the clip is not acceptable and does not reflect the values of the GSU, KPS and NPS.
“The oath of allegiance they took as part of their graduation is a testament to the sanctity of their duty to service. The remarks in the clip are therefore regrettable and stand condemned,” read part of the report. The team was part of 2, 502 GSU recruits who graduated at the National Police College Embakasi B Campus early this week
