Tension is high in Suyian area, Samburu North following the killing of 14 people in a fierce cattle raid by armed bandits who stole 1000 herds of cattle on Wednesday evening.
The shootout between the bandits and herders where three others were seriously injured, police sources say, lasted until early Thursday morning.
Nine of those killed were bandits while the others herders.
Reports indicate that some of the bodies are yet to be picked from the field.
