The Ministry of Education has ordered secondary school students to break for a four-day half-term after an increase in cases of student unrest.

In a circular released by the Ministry of Education on Tuesday, the students will break on Friday, November 19 and resume on Tuesday, November 23.

Principal Secretary for Basic Education Dr Julius Jwan directed the regional and county directors of education to inform the principals of secondary schools within your area of jurisdiction of the term date changes.

Yesterday, principals through their association asked the ministry to allow students to break for mid-term in order to relax.

In order to recover the academic time lost during the long Covid-19 disease occasioned break, the Ministry of Education removed sports and other co-curricular activities.
