A 52-year-old man in Tharaka Nithi County was on Friday electrocuted as he pulled a tree log that had fallen on some electric wires.
The deceased Kennedy Kithinji is reported to have been felling some trees using a power saw along Gituja-Iriga road in Maara constituency when the incidence happened.
Confirming the incident, area OCPD Johnston Kabusia said the late, who died on the spot, was electrocuted as he tried to pull the tree that had fallen and touched the live wires.
“He was trying to pull the tree that had dropped and touched the live wires when he met his death,” Kabusia said.
His body was moved to Chuka County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
The police boss asked residents to exercise caution when working close to electric poles to prevent such weird occurrences.
