An Isiolo-based cleric has urged residents to re-elect incumbent leaders to allow them to complete the ongoing projects they initiated.
Bishop Stephen Kalunyu of the National Independent Church of Africa (Nica) said mega projects that were started by the local elected leaders were yet to be completed and therefore need to give them a five-year extension.
“We have a lot of donors in place, unregistered land and our leaders have not completely completed their manifestos,” Mr Kalunyu shared online.
The cleric noted that maintaining the leaders would greatly contribute to the success of the county urging those seeking positions to step down and vie after 2027.
“For the sake of our prosperity, I urge those seeking elective posts to postpone until 2027,” the clergyman appealed.

His view is that local MPs, Senator, Women Rep and Governor should be given a second chance to fulfill all their election promises including those yet to commence.
His sentiments elicited mixed reactions online with one side telling him to keep off politics while others asking the man of the cloth to let residents decide the leaders they want.
A big number of residents said only a satisfactory track record would convince them to re-elect a leader.
“Projects can always be completed by leaders who will be elected. Let the citizens decide if they will vote them back or not,” one of the residents responded.
