Police have arrested two men suspected to have dragged and gang-raped an 18-year-old university student in a hotel in Kitui town.

The suspects Samuel Mulama, 22, and Biron Orwa, 25, allegedly intoxicated the victim and her boyfriend who had accompanied her to the local pub and who was well known to them.

They would later order rounds of drinks in an effort to ensure the victim’s boyfriend was helpless.

The man later left the joint leaving his girlfriend in the company of the perpetrators.

The suspects then took the lady into a room before they repeatedly raped her in turns.

“The two then seized the opportunity and dragged the victim to the room where they inhumanly raped her in turns,” a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations read in part.

The sleuths arrested one of the suspects while in the inhumane act while the other one was arrested inside the pub where he had gone to pick some of the victim’s clothes they had left there after partly undressing her.

The victim was rushed to Kitui General Hospital for treatment while the suspects are being held ahead of rape charges.
