Work on Kiamakima-Kirege-Forest road in Chuka Igambang’ombe constituency has begun.
The road is part of the six being murramed, graded and gravel patched by Chuka Igambang’ombe National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) all with a total allocation of Sh20 million.
So far, Kiracha-Kiamuriuki-Gitogoto, Kibiga-Kiricho-Njuri, Kibugua-Itugururu-Kamaindi, Itugururu-Kamwimbi-Kiaritha roads have been completed and Kirubia-Mubukuro-Forest road is almost complete.
The Press Point observed that contractor on Ndagani-KK road is currently doing bush clearing.
Speaking at Kirege market on Sunday, area MP Patrick Munene said murraming of the road will enhance accessibility and open up the areas to development.
Munene said it will enable farmers easily avail their produce at nearby towns and markets for sale.
On education, he said his office had allocated money to construct a dining hall at Kirege Secondary school and administration blocks at Mubukuro and Kanoro secondary schools.
The MP said his office was committed to supporting students from poor families by offering them bursaries.
He said close to 200 youths who have enrolled for a training on hairdressing and tailoring, that is ongoing at the Chuka CDF office, will graduate in two-week’ time.
The MP’s office will then purchase about 200 tailor machines that will be used by the graduates from the training to earn a living.
The graduates will then start producing school outfits under ‘Valisha Mwanafunzi Uniform’ meaning Dress the Pupil where needy parents will buy uniform for their primary school pupils at subsidized costs.
