Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has contracted Covid-19 as the county continues to report a spike in infections.
The county boss is admitted at a hospital in Nairobi and it is suspected that she got infected during last week’s two-day retreat in Mombasa with her cabinet and the County Assembly leadership because she tested positive after the tour.
The county recorded 50 cases between July 20 and July 28, 2021.
