The Court of Appeal President Justice Daniel Musinga has constituted a seven-judge bench to hear the Building Bridges Initiative appeal case slated to run for four days from June 29, 2021.
The bench comprises of Presiding Judge Masinga and Justices Gatembu Kairu, Roselyn Nambuye, Patrick Kiage, Francis Tuiyott, Fatuma Sichale and Hannah Okwengu.
Last month, a five-judge bench of the High Court said President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is spearheading the constitutional amendments with ODM Leader Raila Odinga, had no powers to initiative such amendments.
The Head of State, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the BBI National Secretariat filed separate petitions challenging the ruling that declared the process to amend the constitution as unconstitutional.
