Two armed criminals who tried to steal a mobile phone and other valuables from a woman in Lang’ata, Nairobi have been shot dead.
The woman had just alighted from a taxi along Muhoho road when the pistol-wielding thugs acousted her resulting to a scuffle.
The woman screamed for help attracting attention of police officers who were on patrol at the area.
The thugs, on noticing the officers started firing towards them as they fled towards Nairobi West.
The gangsters would later be cornered by the officers after three kilometers chase.
The thugs were suppressed following a fierce response from the officers who fired back and fatally injured them.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), via a post on Twitter, confirmed that the two were shot dead and a pistol loaded with five rounds of 5.56mm calibre ammunition recovered from them.
