A court in Meru has jailed for life a 45-year-old man who defiled his 15-year-old daughter and infected her with HIV/AIDS at Muthara area in Tigania East.
The suspect reportedly dragged the girl to his farm where he repeatedly committed the heinous offence on her.
A HIV test on him and daughter would later turn positive. Investigators established that the man was under anti-retroviral medication.
In her testimony in court, the minor recounted how the father used to severally defile her at night.
The suspect claimed that he had been framed by the girl and the mother for marrying a second wife during his defence.
But Tigania court Principal Magistrate Paul Wechuli found him guilty of the offence and knowingly infecting the girl saying he deserved maximum sentence for betraying the daughter’s trust.
