The Nakuru Municipality has been elevated to City status following adoption of report tabled before the Senate.
Thirty eight (38) Senators voted in favour while two opposed the report tabled by Senate Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations Committee.
The town will after getting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s nod get increased funding from the national government and the World Bank and attract more investors.
The town (Municipality) becomes the fourth City in Kenya joining Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa.
